Traditional Wedding Reception
Gana and I have been discussing having a traditional wedding reception in Mongolia since last summer. Originally, this August seemed like the best time. However, Gana will be busy with the Tennessee bar exam around then. Due to that, we decided to have this reception during the Lunar New Year week. It was great to meet more of her extended family at this event, and also get to see some of her friends again.
Pastor Dugermaa was a great conductor. Here you see him with his horsehead fiddle (a traditional Mongolian instrument).

John, sitting on the front left, previously worked with Gana at JCS (Joint Christian Services). He gave me a lot of insight into what it's like to serve in Mongolia.

A major part of the reception involved representatives from each table singing a tune. Here you see some members of Gana's family doing just that.

We got some cool gifts at the reception, but this rug, featuring Genghis Khan, was perhaps the most memorable of all.

Here we are with Gana's grandma and her sisters.

Dancing time!

One of the greatest blessings of this trip involved getting better acquainted with Gana's family.

Gana's fellow church members are some of the finest folks you'll find anywhere.
