Korat Trip
Toward the end of our Thailand adventure, we visited Korat. Much of our time there was spent with the Mackin family, who have served as missionaries in Thailand for twenty years now.
Every week, Shirley Mackin teaches the Bible to young girls who grow up in a challenging environment. Gana and I got to meet some of them during our trip, and also got to visit with a few of their family members.
In this pic, the girls are visiting our hotel room, where Gana shared her testimony. (Note: This was their first time in this hotel, even though it is close to their homes.)

That night, the Mackins took us to a "Korean barbecue" restaurant. Yummy!

The next evening, we had a great time at the Mackins' home.

We also got to visit Phimai, an ancient Khmer city, while in the Korat area. These ruins are around 800 years old and may have served as a model for Cambodia's Angkor Wat. Here we are at the entrance with Jonah Mackin.

Below you see us at my favorite part of the complex.
Afterwards, while back at our hotel in Korat, Gana took this "James Bond" pic.
