Chicago Time

After leaving Wheaton, we spent some time in Chicago. Even if I never live there again, this historical town will always have a place in my heart.

Ray Beloin, who was our host for 3 nights, picked us up from an 'L' train station. One of the first things we did was visit the Mackin family, who are currently on furlough in the US and staying with Ross' mom Marty. Lindsay and Mindy Cobb joined us for an outstanding Mexican dinner and time of fellowship. (This was my first time to see Lindsay and Mindy in over four years!)

The boys had a fun time chatting...

...and Gana quickly bonded with the ladies.

The next day, Gana and I visited the Hancock Tower. As you can imagine, this was a fun experience for my lovely wife.

That evening, we checked out some Chicago-style pizza at Gino's. We are pictured here with Ray Beloin and Sitro Ing(who sent us an unforgettable wedding card last December). Great to see you again guy!

The next day, we visited the Vietnamese Association of Illinois(VAI). I worked at this nonprofit agency when it was located down the street from the current location. Many old friends have left since I resigned in '03. Thankfully, I was able to catch up with Huong Dao and Shara Chau(pictured here with her children).

During our last full day in Chicago, Sitro Ing met us in Chinatown. Though it was hot outside, there's nothing like hanging out in Chinatown!

Following that, we went to the Lincoln Park Zoo. Here are a few memories from there.
