The Joy of Preaching
When we left our last home, I wasn't sure if preaching opportunities would be as plentiful in our new area. Getting to preach so frequently was one of the most pleasant surprises I encountered in Pohang, as I'd preached very little from 2000-2004.
Earlier today, I got to proclaim the Gospel for the third time here. I had never been assigned specific texts until we came to Incheon, yet I feel the Lord growing me through this experience. This Sunday's text was Luke 20:1-19. After wrestling over the passage, a structure came to my mind and heart. From this encounter of Jesus with the religious leaders, I believe we find three main lessons:
1. Realize that all we have is from God
2. Come to Jesus with a teachable spirit
3. Fear God above any human
Thank you, Jesus, for such wonderful opportunities. I pray that your message will take root in the hearts of the hearers, and that I will be faithful to go through whatever future doors you're calling me too.
