Fresh Air

A view of my office and classroom building from our apt. Quite often, the additional items in the background are obscured by smog.

Earlier today, this area received several inches of rain. Though I experienced several typhoons while in Pohang, I've never seen such a rainstorm in Incheon as we had today. The clean air is such a blessing! As I've told some of you before, Korea is a great place to serve and work. Yet, the Korean experience is sometimes marred by the pollution found in the major cities.

I'll admit that I'm a conservationist. I've never felt the need to have a particularly big car and strongly dislike wasteful driving habits. In fact, taking public transportation is my preferred way of getting to distant places. In addition, the deforestation and dirty water I've witnessed in various places has made me cringe.

Having said the above, I'm troubled that so many have come to worship the earth. God did create this planet to be a wonderful place(Genesis 1). However, His Word makes it clear that He and He alone should be worshiped(Romans 1:25). It seems that "global warming" is intended for those seeking to find meaning in this confusing, troubled world. Many around us are held captive to this religion by charismatic adherents preaching a false gospel. Isn't it time we show these friends that Jesus and only Jesus can fill the void within their hearts?
