Erdenet, Mongolia's Second City

A highlight of this trip was getting to visit Erdenet, the second largest city in Mongolia. One must take an overnight train to get there, and the environment of Erdenet feels worlds away from the capital. Although it contains the modern conveniences of Ulan Bator, Erdenet appears to be a much cleaner, safer, and relaxed place to live.

We spent much of this trip with Gana's aunt and niece, who even helped to organize a fun excursion into "the wild" for us. Here are some photos from our time with them as well as some pics I took from our train rides. The views were so great that I felt some could have come directly from the Old Testament.
