Dr. Chun W. Ro

I frequently get asked, "Who is your mentor?" To this I reply with one name: Dr. Chun Ro. Sure, I've had other mentors, but none like my first international friend.

Dr. Ro fled North Korea at the age of 20(in 1948), and has never seen his family since. Over time, he discovered the Jesus of Scripture and was born again. More than any minister or missionary, Dr. Ro taught me what it is to live as Jesus did. Further, he has taught me the value of cultivating my mind to its fullest potential.

Dr. Ro and I met nearly 20 years ago while he was a political science professor. We bonded quickly, and have kept in touch ever since. At 80, I'm not sure how much longer Dr. Ro will be in this world. However, I do know God was gracious to send him my way.
