Fall 2007 Reflections

It's hard to believe that this semester, outside of the final grading, is now just a memory. Weren't Gana and I just getting back from the US a few weeks ago? Whew! This semester has truly been a challenging one, perhaps the toughest of my three years here. A big part of that is due to taking on two new courses, English Grammar Practice(EGP) and English Pronunciation Clinic(EPC), that both involve extensive preparation time. In addition to teaching new classes, I taught a composition course(EGC) for the first time in a year-and-a-half and lead a team for only my second time here. Numerous things also go along with my administration responsibilities at Handong University, but I don't want to bore you with them right now.

In spite of all of the "stretching" I've experienced this semester, I've sensed a great deal of fulfillment through it all. Growing in one's profession can certainly bring much satisfaction. More importantly, God's call on my life to be here during this season has never been more evident than it is now. Further, being blessed with numerous expressions of appreciation in recent days has made this a special time for me.

Rather than focusing too much on myself, though, I want to thank each of you for your
prayers for Gana and I throughout this year. Our strength comes from God, and your prayers to Him mean much to both of us. Thanks for being a part of our Korean journey! We look forward to keeping in touch with all of you.

"By the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain..."
1 Corinthians 15:10

Challenges and thoughest time in life sharpen us. In fact, that is when you really discover more of who you are and who God is. At least that was my expeirence. Anyways, I want you to know that you are man of integrity!
